Whether she’s posing for Playboy or playing a scantily clad coed in American Pie or The Big Lebowski, it’s no secret that Tara speaks sex. Unfortunately she often finds herself on tabloid pages rather than marquees.

Who Is Tara Reid

Tara Reid is infamous for her plastic surgery mishaps and her off-screen publicity, but this party girl was the talk of the town after high profile roles in American Pie and The Big Lebowski.

American actress Tara Reid has a net worth of $2 million dollars, as of 2020.

Bounding With Buffy

Tara Donna Reid was born in Wyckoff, New Jersey to day care center owners Tom and Donna. She was dancing in recitals by the time she was three, and her impromptu performance at a local mall happened to catch the eye of a local talent agent. After appearing in commercials for McDonald’s and Crayola, Reid made her movie debut at the age of 11 in A Return to Salem’s Lot. But she took a break from the big screen after she won a scholarship to the Professional Children’s School in Manhattan, where Sarah Michelle Gellar was a classmate.

Her Piece Of The Pie

Reid received her diploma in 1994 and quickly landed roles on All My Children and Saved by the Bell: The New Class. Her big break came in 1998 when she was cast opposite Jeff Bridges in the cult classic The Big Lebowski. Reid received a lot of buzz for her portrayal of Bunny the trophy wife, and she quickly followed up with roles in the popular teen flicks Urban Legend and Cruel Intentions.

Reid cemented her celebrity status in 1999, when she starred as the virginal Vicky in the gross-out box office hit American Pie. The film quickly spawned a sequel, but Reid’s other post-Pie ventures were not nearly as successful. Josie and the Pussycats and Doctor T. & the Women were critical failures, and My Boss’s Daughter and Alone in the Dark earned Reid some Razzie nominations.

Reid made her return to television in 2003, when she landed a recurring role on the popular sitcom Scrubs. In 2005 she hosted her own travel series on E! called Taradise, but the party-heavy show did nothing for Reid’s already declining image, and was canceled after less than one season. She followed up with a string of straight-to-video flops, but returned to the big screen later in 2011 in The Fields, and returned to the Pie franchise in American Reunion.

Tara Gone Wild

After Pie put Reid at the top of the young Hollywood food chain, she established a wild child image that has garnered much more press than her film career. Known for showing her skin on the red carpet, she obliviously bared a surgically enhanced breast to the unforgiving paparazzi in 2004. The press buzzed about her shoddy plastic surgery, and in 2006 she told US Weekly that botched breast implants and a bad liposuction had caused some serious damage. She eventually went back under the knife for reconstruction, but her bod has been closely monitored by the tabloids ever since, and she even bared it all for Playboy in January of 2010.

Reid’s excessive drinking habits have also been frequently chronicled in the press. Drunken paparazzi photos and her stint on Taradise cemented her image of a Hollywood bad girl, and she checked herself into rehab in 2008 after highly publicized falls in Las Vegas and Bali showed cause for alarm. Reid completed treatment, and has been focusing on cleaning up her image ever since.

Dating Daly

Reid began dating MTV host Carson Daly in 2000, but the couple called it quits after a brief engagement in 2001. She was linked to J.C. Chasez, Danish businessman Michael Lillelund and NFL Quarterback Kyle Boller throughout the 2000’s, but she still claimed that Daly was the love of her life, and said her hard-partying would be been curbed much earlier had she settled down with him. She had a second chance of stability when her entrepreneur boyfriend Michael Axtmann proposed in 2010, but they too called off their engagement a few months later, putting Reid right back on the single’s scene.

Defining Quote “I’ve done a lot of serious roles, but they’re, like, independent, so it’s harder for them to come out. The big ones have been comedies, but I would love to get a big drama to let people see the other side of me, that I am a serious actress.”
