Tremane Neverson Aldon, popularly known by his artistic name Trey Songz, is an American singer, songwriter and actor. “Trigga”, as others call him, was born on 28th of November 1984 in Petersburg, State of Virginia. Growing up as a shy laid-back kid back in Petersburg, Trey Songz never thought he would be a singer. “Singing wasn’t a reality for me, until other people started noticing I sounded good”.

Kelly which had topped the charts then, called “Trapped in the Closet”. His version that he called “Open the Closet” gave him some limelight, people started noticing how good his voice was. In 2005, July 26th to be precise, his debut album was released. For a new artist in the game the album did well, selling over 40,000 copies in the 1st week alone. Among the songs in that catalogue was his collaboration with super rapper Twista, “Gotta make it”. Trey Songz second single on the album was released in July of 2005 and hit number 67 in Top 100, also performing well in the RNB charts by falling short of just one number to make it to Top 10. This second single, “Gotta Go”, clearly made it big than the debut one, Mr Ladies man would go on to release his 2nd album, “Trey Day” on October 2nd of 2007. Having gained bit of experience and also getting the chance to work with industry giants like R.Kelly, the album did exceedingly well, reaching number 11 on Top 200 while also selling over 73,000 copies it its week of release. The album has since sold over 400,000 copies in the US alone. His all time hit single off the 2nd album, “Cant Help but Wait” did so well that it merited Grammy Award Nomination for Best Male & RNB Performance. His 2008 3rd album “Last Time” and 4th studio album “Missing You” did not perform as well as the first two.
